DESCRIPTION:As part of the Wilson Theatre's 100 year anniversary celebration\, the Arts Council of Wilson is proud to present the brand new and "Broadway bound" musical An Extra Penny\, the intimate story of mothers\, daughters\, friends and wives who persevere in the absence of their men throughout the trials of war. Filled with laughter and heartfelt emotion\, An Extra Penny bridges the 25-year span between WWI and WWII\, where adversity tests the bonds of love across three generations and reminds us that passion breeds success in the darkest of times.\n\n\n\nWith an original script and score by local writer and director Cindy Lu Mancini and South Carolina composer Mary Lee Taylor Kinosian\, this compelling new American musical is being produced by world-class independent theatrical producer Mr. Conwell Worthington\, II. The ultimate goal is to bring this original and singular story to the Broadway stage   but YOU get to see it here first in the Edna Boykin Cultural Center!
