The idea of working with pre-K started when our co founders Mrs. Levolyre Pitt and YoLanda Davis discovered that the programs for their grandchildren were limited and/or not available. Mrs. Pitt, and Margaret Britt (her sorority sister and fellow retired educator), were asked to partnership with another children’s program. They both were elated but the proposal fell through. Yet the spirit, and determination, of these two Delta house sisters was not diminished. The idea for a new program flourished under the pier tutelage and Dee’s House, coupled with YoLanda Davis’s heart for community success, was born.
