Founded in 2015, the Wilson Leadership Institute is a partnership between the Wilson Chamber of Commerce and Wilson Forward, with the mission to identify, train, and deploy strong leadership for the future of Wilson.
 
WLI is a rigorous 8-month course in applied leadership, designed to instruct individuals with demonstrated leadership potential, and deploy them to highly visible public service leadership opportunities in Wilson.  Participants are given practical and real-world training in the discipline of public service leadership, and work as a team to address an urgent community need.
 
Participation in WLI is highly selective.  Only those individuals who have clearly demonstrated leadership potential, and a genuine interest in serving Wilson will be accepted.
