Important business tax information from Wilson County
The Wilson County Tax Office has issued additional guidance for business personal property listings in 2024. Per NC General Statute 105-308, all taxpayers are required to list their personal property during the Regular Listing Period. However, requests for extensions may be made in writing by January 31. Some additional guidance for those business owners completing their listing form:
- Always provide acquisition and/or disposal asset information along with your listing.
- Update your contact information. If your information has recently changed, please notify the Wilson County Tax Administrator either on the listing form, letter, or by email
- If your business has closed, then a listing form will still need to be completed and signed indicating the date that the business ceased operations.
- All incomplete or untimely listings will result in a penalty being applied to the assessment: your account may be recommended to auditors for further review.
- LISTING PERIOD: The Regular Listing Period is January 1st through January 31st.
- Regular Listing Period due date is JANUARY 31
- EXTENSIONS: Extended Listing period for taxpayers with a granted extension during the Regular Listing Period.
- ALL GRANTED extensions have a due date of APRIL 15.
