Friends of Horticulture-Weeds and IPM

Did your lawn or garden remain the same, decline, or improve this year? Would you like your landscape to be more attractive, or your garden to be more productive? If so, you may want to join the Wilson County Friends of Horticulture, a growing program offered by the Wilson County Cooperative Extension Service.
This is our first series of Wilson County Friends of Horticulture! You will learn ways to improve your landscape, lawns, and gardens. Classes will cover topics such as pecan trees, raised bed gardening, fire ants, soils, bees, and ridding your yard of those pesky moles and voles.
The 2019 Friends of Horticulture schedule is as follows:
August 27 – Botany
September 24 – Weeds and IPM
October 15 – Insects
November 19 – Plant Diseases and Diagnostics
If any or all of these topics have peaked your interest, you should consider joining the Wilson County Friends of Horticulture. We meet at the Wilson Agricultural Center, 1806 SW Goldsboro Street, Wilson NC at 9 am. Classes usually run between 2-3 hours. The cost is $20 for one or all the classes. Checks should be made out to “Wilson County” and mailed to the Wilson Extension Center. If you have further questions, contact the Wilson Extension Center at (252) 237-0111.
